Lo! the hypocrites say, and those in whose hearts is a disease: "These people,- their religion has misled them." But if any trust in Allah, behold! Allah is Exalted in might, Wise. 49 And if you could see when the angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve (at death), they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): "Taste the punishment of the blazing Fire." 50 This, because of that which your hands have sent forth, and verily Allah is never unjust unto His creatures. 51 The same thing happened to the people of Pharaoh and those who lived before them. They rejected the revelations of God and, because of their sins, His retribution struck them. God is All-powerful and stern in His retribution. 52 This happened because Allah is not one to change the favour which He has bestowed upon a people until they have changed their attitude. Surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 53 Their case is like that of the people of Pharaoh and those before them: they rejected the signs of their Lord as false and so We destroyed them for their sins, and caused the people of Pharaoh to drown. For they were wrong-doers all. 54 The most wicked creatures in the sight of God are the unbelievers who never have faith, 55 They are those with whom thou didst make a covenant, but they break their covenant every time, and they have not the fear (of Allah). 56 So if you find them in battle, kill them in a manner which makes those behind them scamper back, in the hope that they may learn a lesson. 57 If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms. Indeed, Allah does not like traitors. 58
