T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and all that is in between, and all that is beneath the soil. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 "Now, what is this in thy right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 He said: Cast it down, O Moses! 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 (Allah) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition".. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 This We have done to show you some of Our greater miracles. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
