Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise). 8
