We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Yet these say: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
