Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a garden sublime, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
