In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoineth piety? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
