Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom, 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have gardens of bliss, 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
