Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
