Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
God will bring to naught all the good deeds of those who are bent on denying the truth and bar [others] from the path of God. 1 And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition. 2 This is because the unbelievers follow falsehood while the believers follow the truth from their Lord. As such Allah sets forth for people their examples. 3 So, when you clash with the unbelievers, smite their necks until you overpower them, then hold them in bondage. Then either free them graciously or after taking a ransom, until war shall have come to end. If God had pleased He could have punished them (Himself), but He wills to test some of you through some others. He will not allow the deeds of those who are killed in the cause of God to go waste. 4 He will show them the way, and better their state, 5 And admit them to the Garden which He has announced for them. 6 Believers, if you help God, He will help you and make you steadfast (in your faith). 7 And for those who disbelieve – may they be ruined, and may Allah destroy all their deeds! 8 That was because they were averse to what Allah had revealed; so He let their works go to waste. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled through the land and seen the terrible end of those who lived before them? God brought upon them utter destruction and the disbelievers will also face similar perdition. 10 This is so for God is the friend of those who believe while the unbelievers have no friend. 11
