The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
