Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding back-biter, 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
