And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
