Nay, by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About the criminals, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
