The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 on a great day 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 A written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!” 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
