Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 This is the revelations from the Beneficent, Merciful God. 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 who pay not the alms, and disbelieve in the world to come. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
