It is He who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and with it trees grow on which you pasture your cattle. 10 With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought. 11 He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the sun and the moon; and the stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise. 12 On the earth He has fashioned for you objects of various hues: there is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves; 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is He then Who creates like him who does not create? Do you not then mind? 17 For, should you try to count God's blessings, you could never compute them! Behold, God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace; 18 God knows all that you conceal and all that you reveal. 19 And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created. 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
