In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Allah has caused the works of those who disbelieve and hinder people from the way of Allah to go to waste. 1 As for those who attained to faith and did righteous works and believed in what was revealed to Muhammad -- which indeed is the Truth from their Lord -- Allah has remitted their evil deeds and has set their condition right. 2 This is because the disbelievers have followed falsehood and the believers have followed the Truth from their Lord. Thus God explains to the human being their own prospects. 3 If you encounter the disbelievers in a battle, strike-off their heads. Take them as captives when they are defeated. Then you may set them free as a favor to them, with or without a ransom, when the battle is over. This is the Law. Had God wanted, He could have granted them (unbelievers) victory, but He wants to test you through each other. The deeds of those who are killed for the cause of God will never be without virtuous results. 4 Soon will He guide them and improve their condition, 5 And He shall make them enter the Garden; He shall have made it known unto them. 6 O ye who believe! if ye shall succour Allah, He shall succour you and make firm your feet. 7 But those who disbelieve - for them is misery, and He will waste their deeds. 8 That is because they hate the Revelation of Allah; so He has made their deeds fruitless. 9 ۞ Have they not then journeyed in the land and seen how was the end of those before them: Allah brought down destruction upon them, and the unbelievers shall have the like of it. 10 This is so for God is the friend of those who believe while the unbelievers have no friend. 11
