Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not availed me, 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
