The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
