And if We let a man taste mercy from Us, and then We wrest it from him, he is desperate, ungrateful. 9 And if We make him taste a favor after distress has afflicted him, he will certainly say: The evils are gone away from me. Most surely he is exulting, boasting; 10 Except for those who are patient and do righteous deeds; those will have forgiveness and great reward. 11 Then would you possibly leave [out] some of what is revealed to you, or is your breast constrained by it because they say, "Why has there not been sent down to him a treasure or come with him an angel?" But you are only a warner. And Allah is Disposer of all things. 12 Do they say (of the Prophet): "He has forged (the Qur'an)?" Say: "Then bring ten Surahs like it, and call anyone except God to help you, if what you say is true." 13 And if they do not respond to you - then know that the Qur'an was revealed with the knowledge of Allah and that there is no deity except Him. Then, would you [not] be Muslims? 14 Those who desire the life of this world and all its finery shall be repaid in full in this life for their deeds -- nothing shall be denied them. 15 These are the ones for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter except the fire; and all that they did there has gone to waste and all their deeds are destroyed. 16 Is he (to be counted equal with them) who relieth on a clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him reciteth it, and before it was the Book of Moses, an example and a mercy? Such believe therein, and whoso disbelieveth therein of the clans, the Fire is his appointed place. So be not thou in doubt concerning it. Lo! it is the Truth from thy Lord; but most of mankind believe not. 17 And who doth greater wrong than he who fabricateth a lie against Allah! these shall be set before their Lord, and the witnesses shall say; these are they who lied against their Lord. Lo! the curse of Allah shall fall on the wrong-doers 18 Such as those who turn others away from the path of God and seek to make it appear crooked: these are the ones who deny the Hereafter. 19 They will in no wise frustrate (His design) on earth, nor have they protectors besides Allah! Their penalty will be doubled! They lost the power to hear, and they did not see! 20 They caused utter loss to themselves, and all that they had invented failed them. 21 Truly in the hereafter they are the greatest losers. 22 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works and humbled themselves before their Lord - they shall be the fellows of the Garden: therein they shall be abiders. 23 ۞ The likeness of the two parties is as one who is blind and deaf, and one that sees and hears, are they equally alike, will you not remember? 24
