The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
