When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
