Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 And the Qur’an is undoubtedly, in the Original Book with Us, surely the exalted, full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 And He it is who sends down, again and again, waters from the sky in due measure: and [as] We raise therewith dead land to life, even thus will you be brought forth [from the dead]. 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 indeed, to our Lord we are turning' 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
