In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
