The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
