The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
