(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 and when you strike you strike like tyrants? 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 succoured you with flocks and sons, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 “And we will not be punished.” 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
