And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 and these satans hinder them from the Right Path, while he still reckons himself to be rightly-guided. 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Or show you some of what We have promised them. They are certainly well within Our power. 42 So hold thou fast unto that which has been revealed unto thee; surely thou art upon a straight path. 43 It is indeed a Reminder to you and to your nation, and without doubt you shall be questioned. 44 And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before thee: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped beside the Beneficent? 45
