Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised, 93 do not, O my Sustainer, let me be one of those evildoing folk!" 94 We have certainly the power to make you see what We have promised them. 95 [But whatever they may say or do,] repel the evil [which they commit] with something that is better: We are fully aware of what they attribute [to Us]. 96 Say: "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the evil promptings of the devils. 97 And I seek refuge in Thee! O my Lord! from their presence. 98 Until, when death comes to one of them (those who join partners with Allah), he says: "My Lord! Send me back, 99 Haply I may do good in that which I have left. By no means! it is a (mere) word that he speaks; and before them is a barrier until the day they are raised. 100 And then no sooner the Trumpet is blown than there will remain no kinship among them that Day, nor will they ask one another. 101 Then he whose scales are heavy -- they are the prosperers, 102 And he whose balances shall be light - these are they who have lost themselves; in Hell they are abiders. 103 The fire burneth their faces, and they are glum therein. 104 "Were not My Verses (this Quran) recited to you, and then you used to deny them?" 105 They shall say: O our Lord! our adversity overcame us and we were an erring people: 106 Our Lord, bring us out of it. If we return (to sin), then we shall indeed be harmdoers' 107 'Slink you into it,' He shall say, 'and do not speak to Me. 108 Verily there was a party of My bondmen who said: our Lord! we have believed, wherefore forgive us and have mercy upon us, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones! 109 But you took them in mockery to the point that they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them. 110 [But,] behold, today I have rewarded them for their patience in adversity: verily, it is they, they who have achieved a triumph!" 111 He will ask, "How many years did you stay on earth?" 112 They will say: We tarried a day or part of a day, but ask those who keep account. 113 He will say: "You stayed only for a while, if you only knew that. 114 Did you, then, think that We created you in mere idle play, and that you would not have to return to Us?" 115 [KNOW,] then, [that] God is sublimely exalted, the Ultimate Sovereign, the Ultimate Truth: there is no deity save Him, the Sustainer, in bountiful almightiness enthroned! 116 Whoever worships another god apart from God, for which he holds no proof, will have to account for it before his Lord. Verily the unbelievers will not prosper. 117 And say: 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for Thou art the best of the merciful.' 118
