And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
