Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
