Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
