Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 until an appointed time? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
