He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 Unto him thou attendest. 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and who has fear of God, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 and dense orchards, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 Everyman, that Day, will have enough to make him careless of others. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 laughing, joyous; 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
