So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 We afflicted them with punishment.
