The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
