The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 on fine parchment; 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 And the elevated canopy 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 on the Day when they shall be thrust into the fire with [an irresistible] thrust, [and will be told:] 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
