The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
