The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is overthrown, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the close of night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
