People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
