The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
