And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
