Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 As justification or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
