The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
