The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who has created (everything), and then proportioned it; 2 who has ordained and guided, 3 And Who brings out the pasturage, 4 then turns it into black stubble. 5 We shall make thee recite, to forget not 6 save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. 7 And We will ease you toward ease. 8 Therefor remind (men), for of use is the reminder. 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 Only the wretch will turn aside, 11 Who will burn in the terrible Fire, 12 Then he will neither die in it, nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 and remembers the Name of his Lord, so he prays. 15 Nay! you prefer the life of this world, 16 Though the life to come is better and abiding. 17 This is what is written in the ancient heavenly Books, 18 The Books of Abraham and Moses. 19
