Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sun and his early morning splendour, 1 And by the moon as it follows it (the sun); 2 by the day when it brightens the earth, 3 And [by] the night when it covers it 4 by the heavens and that (Power) which established them, 5 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: 6 and by the soul and that (Power) which designed it 7 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. 10 The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness 11 when their arch-criminal rose up in rage. 12 But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" 13 But they denied him, and they hamstrung her, so Allah doomed them for their sin and rased (their dwellings). 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
