In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
