The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful 1

ALL PRAISE BE to Allah, Lord of all the worlds, 2 the All-merciful, the All-compassionate, 3 The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) 4 You alone do we worship, and You alone do we turn for help 5 Guide us in the straight path, 6 The way of those whom You have favoured, who did not incur Your wrath, who are not astray. 7

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
