۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
