The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The All-merciful 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
